What’s your definition of purpose?
Purpose is the reason for which something is created. Simply put, the reason for existence.
With a drive for entrepreneurship, how did you find your way towards OnPoint success?
Wow! It’s a long story, however, I will share a concise version. As a child, I have always known three things about myself and those three things still stand today, and these are entrepreneurship, event planning and teaching. I started my first business at the age of 10 and I can’t remember any time since then that I have not been involved in one venture or the other. After my relocation from my home country, Nigeria to the United States over a decade ago, I decided I was going to live my dreams no matter how hard it was. I started researching, learning and attending trainings and with the guidance of a mentor, I launched my event planning business online. Little did I know that launching my brand online would open many other doors than I could ever have imagined. People started reaching out to me from near and far asking me to teach them how to launch and build their brands online. I loved and still love teaching, so I would teach without any expectation of return. Over time, I found out that I spent more than 70% of my time helping people unleash their brands so I decided to create a small business blog where people can learn about building a brand without me having to spend time with everyone. That was how Onpoint Success was birthed. It started as a small business blog and then to a brand that serves brands across the world. I also built an online community, Onpoint Small Business Success. This is a platform of more than 13,000 entrepreneurs on Facebook where I mentor entrepreneurs from across the world.
You mentor, train and work with women across the world; helping them gain financial independence through entrepreneurship. What are the key factors that women entrepreneurs should keep in mind?
The key factors that women entrepreneurs should bear in mind is impossible is nothing. In other words, there is nothing like it is not possible. Everyone’s dreams are valid. Also, the greatest tool ever presented to man is the internet because it has the ability to catapult anyone from obscurity into limelight. If women want to succeed, they can where ever they are in the world and no matter their educational background.
'Your zeal for success made you a successful expert Brand Strategist, an Entrepreneur and an Author. Please share some success tips with our readers.
Success is more of a championship rather than a game. To be successful, you need to know your end goal. Are you in it to score a point or are you in it to win the championship? Second, you need to be ready for the long haul. This means that you need to show up on days you feel like it and more importantly, on days you don’t feel like it. You can’t just play a game or two and think you are in it to win, you need to prepare and show up at every game. Third, you need to focus to avoid distractions. Distractions will always take you farther from your goals. In my book, “UNEQUALED: The Power Woman’s Pathway to Building a Profitable Brand Online”, I detailed the steps needed to build a success.
We at Beauty and Purpose believe in inspiring women to shine in their beauty while walking in their purpose. What's your definition of beauty and how do you celebrate individual beauty?
I define beauty as substance of things unseen. Beauty is abstract, but it can be felt through a combination of things including confidence, positive attitude, exceptional character and outstanding results.
Women sometimes have a hard time balancing family, health and business especially while building a brand which requires their uninterrupted focus. How do you balance everything in your life and what tips would you like to share with our readers?
When it comes to family, health and business, there is nothing like balance. The scale will always be tilted no matter how hard we try. That’s why it’s important to prioritise instead. When we prioritise, it gives us the opportunity to do the things we care most about while also leading a life worthy of emulation.
