What's your definition of purpose?

Purpose is when you and your destiny align. Purpose is when you are actively, enthusiastically, and aggressively participating in what God has called you to do here on earth.

When did you know for sure what your purpose is and what you wanted to contribute to the world as your career?

When I was young, I knew I wanted to make people smile, and I had a passion to be of help to others. During my time in college, I use to work several jobs; I was always what they called a hustler, I would make flyers and offer my assistance to people doing hair. I found that when I was doing hair, I was counseling and praying for people through things they were going on in their lives. After my first 21 days Daniel fast, I was praying in my room, and I had an encounter with God, he had revealed some things that he wanted me to do at the time. I got fearful in that time not so much scared of him but scared of what he had called me to do. I ran. About four years later I was sitting in my office at work, and he begins to reveal himself to me speaking clearly about what he wanted me to do. I wrote it down and began to put things in place. I started volunteering in my church youth ministry; I also started working with a local pregnancy crisis center with coaching and grant writing. I was already in the field of assisting others with social work, so I was being trained in that area.

To date what's your most significant accomplishment?

To date, my most significant accomplishment is teaching my daughter what it means to be a whole young girl, and eventually a whole young woman in God. Of course, I have other accomplishments like my bachelors in Healthcare from Auburn University and my soon to be Master's degree in public administration. My youth ministry Rainfire Kids, as well as the company's CBG Consulting, and Yasharah's Place that God has allowed me to push out and produce. I am just thankful to be a vessel used by God. I am thankful for my obedience.

What's one tip you would give to someone trying to figure out what their purpose is, and living it no matter what?

My advice would be to know that all your trials and choices will assist you in the bigger picture. God says in Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. I encourage you to build a relationship and fall in love with God. Have an encounter with him as your father, your creator, your advisor, and he will give you clarity of your purpose. The amazing thing is that it is not far from what is innately in you and it's something you already love and enjoy. I found out that I am a person that loves to talk, I love to research, and I love to find the answer to things. It has helped me in everything that God has asked me to do. God is a gentleman, and you might find that he doesn't push you to walk in purpose he allows you to walk in purpose the choice is always yours.

How do you deal with fear?

For a long time, me and fear were very close; God would tell me to do something and fear would paralyze me. As you develop and you get into your quiet time and allow God to build you up. When you commit to the process that he is dong in your life, you will learn to positively put fear in its place. God say he has not given us the spirit of fear, we were given the emotion of fear for example if you are in the dark and you start to feel fear, fear should push you into action. And example would be to speak to the fear and tell it, that you have no place in my life. Everyone deals with fear; you just must learn how to control the feeling. When you allow your feeling to control you that is when it becomes powerful. Fear is said to be false evidence appearing real, know that it's not real and speak the truth to it. I am strong; I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me, I have a sound mind and peace. It truly helps!

What's your definition of beauty and how do you celebrate your individual beauty?

Beauty is everything in you, everything you are the good and the bad. God had a way of using everything you were born with and even things that have attached itself along the way to mold you like clay. He also purifies you in the process of a potter creating something maybe a dish, or a vase after he has molded the clay he then places in extreme heat which is called the firing process. During this process, it is said that the clay and glaze meet a mature state. It is to make the object tough and strong often allowing the object to last for thousands of years this is due to the clay encountering the fire. God says that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, so you must believe that beauty is already within you just allow God to let it shine.

Besides the Bible what's your favorite self-development book?

Fasting by Jentezen Franklin, this book was the launching pad of my progressive and mature life in God. I decided to fast as I was reading this book with a friend. We read this book and every night prayed together for 16 days. At the end of this fast, I was given my non-profit, it was paid and full. After the 16 days, we continued the prayer every night for about 60 days, we noticed that not only did our prayers change, but God began to change us. My friend is now about to get married, and I am now healed from some things that I know God could have healed. It is a great place to start if you are looking for purpose because fasting and praying will give you direction and clarity.
