Believe in your purpose, Believe in YOU

Coming from watching a movie, have you ever felt like, “That’s the story of my life, right there,” and suddenly you’re upset, feeling down or restless? I watched La La Land and came out of the cinema feeling like “isn’t that what happened to me and my first love?” Why couldn’t it have been a happier ending?
Or have you experienced meeting a stranger who somehow makes everything you’ve ever believed in suddenly meaningless? Everything was fine before it. You have a nice-paying job, money in the bank, a decent car, a cozy home, a loving family, etc. But suddenly something seems to be missing.
Or maybe you’ve had more than enough of your fair share of struggles and challenges in life, and you’re feeling exhausted from it all, but you can’t seem to stop struggling or the challenges never stop coming. You need rest but rest won’t come to you.
We’ve heard many times before that everything happens for a reason. Yet often, we don’t know what the reason is. What was the movie trying to tell me? What was the stranger trying to tell me? Why do I always seem to struggle with just about everything?
No matter how you phrase your question, you are looking for one and the same thing—purpose.
Dictionaries define purpose as the reason for which something is done or created, or for which something exists. That’s easy enough when we talk about things like the sun, which, as we learned in school, exists to hold the solar system together, give us daylight, help flora grow through photosynthesis, etc. Or mobile phones were created to get people connected even when they’re moving around different places and cannot be connected via wired telephones.
But do you know why your life experiences happened the way they did? Do you know why your parents are the way they are and you are the way you are but somehow still different from them? They say the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree, but “why am I feeling so different?” you ask.
If you are asking any of these questions right now, then congratulations. You are about to discover your reason for being, the meaning for which you exist—your purpose.
But what if you’ve never experienced any of the above? Well, you can leave this page right now. Bye, thanks for visiting.
For those who want to know how to systematically find their purpose,
