What's your definition of purpose?

To me your "purpose" is your calling; the thing that you love most in the entire world that makes you absolutely happy. Some of us are great singers, so our purpose in life is to make great music. Some of us are caring and love helping others, so our purpose might be being a doctor, a nurse, or a therapist. Your purpose is that thing that makes your heart beat faster and gets you excited to get up in the morning.

When did you know for sure what you wanted to contribute to the world, your career?

I always knew I wanted to be a writer. I love expressing myself with words. I also love helping others so my resume writing company merges my gift of writing and my love of helping others strive to be better. I'm also a novelist and I knew I wanted to share my gift of writing love stories with the world because I love how a story transports me to another place. I wanted other people to feel that with my words.

To date what's your most significant accomplishment?

As a woman sometimes it's hard to balance all the different responsibilities because we are pulled in a million different directions. I think my most significant accomplishment is managing to balance my career, my life as a writer, raising a two year old and being a wife all at one time. It is a huge challenge but being able to figure out how to prioritize is definitely a huge accomplishment.

What's one tip you would give to someone trying to figure out what their purpose is, and living it no matter what?

I would tell that person to listen to their heart. What is it that, when you close your eyes, you could see yourself doing for the rest of your life? What is that thing that when you are doing it, you don't feel like it's a job? What is that thing that makes you happy and fulfilled? That thing, whatever it is, is what you should be doing. Be honest with yourself, embrace your truth and then just do it.

What's your definition of beauty and how do you celebrate your individual beauty?

Beauty to me is internal - kindness in strangers, laughter and compassion. For myself, I strive to be considerate and a good person every day because I think that is where true beauty is defined. To me, beauty is shown in the things that you do when no-one is looking; the things you do for others without expecting anything in return.

.Besides the Bible what's your favorite self development book?

The Power of Now by Eckart Tolle. This book stresses the importance of living in the present and not focusing on the past or worrying about the future.
